Vetoquinol launches the “Green packaging” project. This project is part of the GI # 1 "sustainable development" strategy and aims to gradually optimize the palettisation plans within the veterinary laboratory.
The pilot phase of this project started in 2020 and will extend until the end of 2021 to all pallets departing from Lure (France) before the global expansion.
The implementation strategy for this project meets all the objectives of the group:
- Safety and quality of shipments (thanks to better pallet stability.)
- Optimized storage performance (on average 20% more product per pallet.)
- Reduction of CO2 emissions during transport (20% less lorries on roads with the same quantity delivered.)
Beyond the benefits for the laboratory, this rationalization impacts the entire distribution chain, as it requires, among other things, less storage space and less processing for customers.
In addition, the palette optimization enables costs reduction in terms of logistics, storage, transport and packaging.
Other projects are underway and will be unveiled in 2021.
